Mecha Sonic is the first robotic imposter of Sonic. Despite this, Mecha Sonic fought Sonic after he beat up Metal Sonic during Sonic CD.
History[]

Mecha Sonic was created before Sonic CD, but Dr. Eggman didn't let him fight Sonic until Sonic 2 for some reason. There were no rings, so Sonic had a hard time fighting Mecha Sonic until he cheated by doing a spin dash under Mecha Sonic, killing him.
mk.II[]
In Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Mecha Sonic gets rebuilt, but he gets beat up by Sonic again. Mecha Sonic then tried using the Master Emerald to kill Knuckles, but this plan FAILED, and Mecha Sonic WENT BOOM!!!
mk.III[]
In Sonic Adventure, Mecha Sonic gets rebuilt... AGAIN... and he, along with Metal Sonic, are trapped inside test tubes for some reason. Mecha Sonic is still alive, but Dr. Eggman forgot to release him from his test tube. What an asshole!
